I am an avant-garde film scholar, curator and educator based in Poznan, Poland. My research focuses on the history, theory and practice of American experimental film in addition to independent and documentary film, ecocinema, women’s film and new media.
I am the recipient of several research grants and author of two books and over forty articles, chapters and book reviews. My recent papers have appeared in Adaptation, Feminist Media Studies, Mobilities, New Review of Film and Television Studies and other peer-reviewed journals. My new book, Lost Highways, Embodied Travels (Brill, 2023), is the first book-length study that explores the relationship between the road movie and experimental filmmaking.
I teach courses on film history, experimental film and video, American and world cinema, independent film, women’s film and British and American studies. I also curate film programs, write film synopses and review films for festivals, including the Ann Arbor Film Festival and CROSSROADS. I am now working on a book on animals in experimental film.
I am currently Assistant Professor at the American Studies Research Unit at AMU Faculty of English. I hold a PhD in English and D.Litt in literary studies.
